I’m very excited to make this announcement finally! I’ve been waiting for the site to be ready to share the great news with all my readers. It’s been eating away at me for weeks now and finally, the time has come! I’ve been asked to be a contributor to at the Happy Wives Club!

I’m excited to be working with a group of amazing women who are proud of the love they share with their spouse. This group focuses on and celebrates happy marriages.

Impromptu Date Night

In every successful marriage, finding time with your spouse is essential. But when you bring children, careers and everything else life hands us into account, we don’t always get the time we need. I’m all for a planned night out, it gives me something to look forward to, but let’s face it – life sometimes gets in the way!

Recently, we’ve taken a different approach to date night at our home. We’ve had a few too many date night attempts and fails recently that we’ve decided that planning them and just let the pieces fall where they may… Basically, we’ve decided to let go and just make the most of the time we get. We’re taking more of an impromptu date night approach.

Happy Valentine’s Day! I have to say this is one of my favorite holidays all year. It’s a day that celebrates love in every form – the love between husband and wife, boyfriend and girlfriend, friendships and the love that bonds us as a family. There are so many different forms of love, it seems right to have a day to showcase that love.

It seems only fitting that today is Thursday which means I’ll be linking up to Happy Wives Club’s Why I Love My Husband link up.

I’ve been sending my husband little hints here and there – sending him an email from a florist on Valentine’s Day specials, having my daughter tell him “these flowers are beautiful” at the supermarket – you know, little things like that. ;) Alright, so they’re not very subtle! I really wasn’t expecting anything, honest – cross my heart and all! I had the evening planned out in my head. I’d make dinner, put the kids to bed and wait for my husband to come home. Since it’s a holiday, I expected that he’d be a little later than usual since he manages a restaurant. He’d come home and we’d open up a bottle of wine – or 2 – eat and go to bed.

When I came downstairs this morning to get myself ready for work, I found this waiting for me.

He even picked up a little something for the kids.

It doesn’t take much to make me cry but seeing the hand written note on the edge of the table pushed me over the edge.

Those simple words meant more to me than anything else. It reassured me that I’m loved and appreciated by a man who I love more than words can ever express. I am so lucky to have him in my life and to have shared the past 13 years with him. We have our good days and our bad days but I cherish them all. Having him in my life has been a blessing. I look forward to many, many more Valentine’s Days.

Why I Love My Husband:

18. He lets me know that he appreciates me and loves me
19. He treats our daughter like a princess because in our eyes she is a princess and always will be
20. He respects me and teaches our children to show me respect
21. He doesn’t mind changing a stinky diaper, even when I’m home
22. He takes care of the really dirty jobs around the house because he knows I really don’t want to (snaking the toilets – YUCK!)
23. He smacks my butt when he walks by – even after 13 years he still does it!

Why I Love My HusbandDon’t wait around until Valentine’s Day to let your spouse know how much you love them. Tell them every day, several times a day. Show them you love then in all your actions.

I’m linked up with the Happy Wives Club. Stop by and read more stories of love and happiness. The best fairy tales are the real ones.
