I have the biggest sweet tooth in the family and this time of year is a killer for me! I try to avoid bringing candy and ice cream into the house for that very reason. I know myself too well, I’ll be the one to eat a majority of it. I can try to blame it on the kids, but that doesn’t exactly work too well for me at the moment. There’s only so much my 3-year-old can eat and I can’t blame my 5 month old, so it’s pretty easy to point fingers when suddenly all the candy in my kid’s Halloween stash “mysteriously” goes missing.

I’ve scavenged the internet to find some great healthy snack alternatives to help satisfy my sweet cravings.

I found this recipe for Fruit Salsa with Baked Cinnamon Chips at The Thread Affect. I love fruit salad, so this treat was right up my ally. Any fruit mixture will do, but I really like how she added brown sugar and fruit preserve to give the fruit salad an added sweetness.

Oh my do these Inside Out Caramel Apples from Domestic Fits look absolutely divine! I think this is a treat even the kids would go crazy over.

Here’s a personal favorite I make when we have bananas in the house. My daughter loves it too, except she prefers hers without yogurt. [Photo from Delish.com]

I know what you’re thinking, making something like that takes too much time and if you’re a busy mom like me, time is precious and very limited, but trust me when I tell you that it’s not a difficult as it may sound.  You don’t have to roll out your own pasta to have it fresh, opt for a refrigerated or even frozen pasta.
